NHS Treatment

The practice offers a full range of NHS treatments dependent upon the patient’s commitment to maintaining oral health.

Patients can request services and express a preference of dentist via the receptionist. The NHS price structure changed in April 2006, with treatments falling into three bands.

Some treatments are not available under the NHS but your dentist will give you a fully itemised treatment plan, listing all the options available to you at the time of your initial consultation. Fees are due once your dental care starts.

You may qualify for full or partial exemption from charges, please ask for advice.

We now require prepayments before you are seen by the dentist or hygienist.

Price List
The NHS price list has been simplified since April 2006.Prices for treatments under the NHS will depend on which of 3 bands the items on your course of treatment fall under.

As of 1st April 2024, the Government has decided to introduce the new price structure as follows:

There are 3 Bands:

Example 1
A patient requires an examination and x-ray. This patient’s course of treatment falls into Band 1 and they pay £26.80.

Example 2
A patient requires an examination, an x-ray and a simple filling. This patient’s course of treatment falls into band 2 and they pay £73.50. If the patient required more than 1 filling on a course of treatment, they would still only pay £73.50.

Example 3
A patient requires an examination, an x-ray and a crown or denture. This patient’s course of treatment falls into Band 3 and they pay £319.10.
Patients are able to mix treatment options and have NHS and private work under the same course of treatment. Detailed estimates giving all the options available will always be given to the patient.
